Senate summons Woke, FCT Commissioner of Police over kidnapping

The Senate on Wednesday summoned the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, over the kidnapping incident that occurred at Galadimawa Area of FCT, where five persons, including an aide of a serving Senator were murdered.

At the plenary on Wednesday, Senator Ned Nwoko, from the Delta North presented the report on the incident to the Senate, where he commended the Police for their swift response in arresting perpetrators of the heinous crimes.

Galaxy tv reports that in his prayers, Senator Nwoko called for a Minute silence in honour of the victims, installation of CCTV Cameras at strategic locations, as well summons the FCT and Commissioner of Police FCT for more details on the incident.
Other lawmakers, who spoke on the motion lauded Nwoko for comprehensive details on the incident and supported all prayers put forward.

On his part, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, described the incident as unfortunate and demanded that the Senate required additional information on the incident.

The Senate has therefore summoned the FCT Minister and the Commissioner of Police FCT to appear at a close session of the House for additional information on the Galadimawa incident.
