Environment: Oyo Govt Moves Against Illegal Felling of Trees

Oyo State Government has cautioned residents against illegal felling of trees across the state saying such act constitute serious danger for the environment.

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Abiodun Oni who gave the warning at an event organized by the Ministry in Ibadan, to commemorate the 2023 World Environment Day also warned against activities of those burning charcoal in the state.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the Commissioner, who decried the increasing level of pollution with the attendant effect of global warming, noted that, unless critical steps are taken, the humanity is in danger of environmental pollution.

On his part, the Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Environment, Engr. Ademola Aderinto stressed the need for people to desist from acts inimical to a save and serene environment habitable for humanity.
